Happy Earth Day!

I thought it fitting for Earth Day to post pictures of my favorite place on Earth! And no, I’m not there right now (unfortunately), but this was the last time I was, 3 years ago (much too long!). And there’s my little Earth Girl, who now is not so little. But I know she’s going to LOVE it! Only four more weeks and we’ll be sitting on that very beach!

And for those of you wondering, the move is in full swing these days! Tomorrow’s my last day of violin lessons, Thursday is Derick’s last exam, and Monday we pick up the truck! Is it possible that this whole house will be packed up and shipped out in less than a week? Well, I guess we’ll see! :)

Violin Girl.......

I found my camera cord, it wasn't at the farm at all! (Can you tell my house is a little topsy turvy these days?) Here's the little violinist! She just looked so calm and focused, even with the little glitch at the start. Enjoy!

a hug.

We left our camera cord at the farm last week so I can't share any current pictures, but this little one never made it on here. She travelled from here about a month ago to a land way up north to give a much needed hug to someone we love! We're glad you gave her a good home, Grandma Lynne, and Emberly is excited to see her soon!

Things are crazy around here, crazy but good! Today was our local Kiwanis Music Festival, and I had 14 students entered. So we spent the entire morning and a good chunk of the afternoon listening to little violinists performing their hearts out, and it was awesome! I just swelled with pride every time one of my little ones got up to play. And of course, Emberly was one of them and played her Twinkle Twinkle Little Star beautifully! I couldn't have been happier! I have a little video clip to share with you all when we pick up our cord. I know you'll all be eagerly awaiting it! :)

I think in 20 years, pictures like these will mean much more to me than the sweet blissful shots. These truly capture the moment, and I had to share so you'd know I'm just keepin' it real!

On the move......

What do you think, should we pack these two cuties? Life is picking up pace here as we're down to three weeks left before the big move. Derick has a week left of classes and then exams. My students are all playing in our local music festival, and then our violin recital, and then a huge concert with the symphony. Emberly's in the festival as well and has a number of activities going on at school. And Gavin's just along for the ride, trying to keep the house in a constant state of mess. On top of all of this, we're supposed to be packing and organizing so our move goes as smoothly as possible, but I know that it'll come down to the last few days and I'll be throwing things in boxes! Isn't that how life goes?
